DGHS Scholarships Scheme: Awarded for post-MBBS/BDS and postdoctoral (Medical/Dental) studies to students in only those institutions where residency scheme has not been introduced. Students getting scholarship under any other scheme or drawing salary are not eligible. Dr. K.S. Krishnan DAE Research Fellowships: Awarded for a maximum period of 5 years with the objective to encourage and support talented science and engineering graduates to pursue research leading to Ph.D. Degree. Dr. K.S. Krishna Research Associateship: Under this scheme introduced by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (Department of Atomic Energy), about 20 Research Associates are inducted with the possibility of getting absorbed in the R & D organisation of the DAE against regular vacancies based on performance during the period of Associate ship. Eligibility requirements are Ph.D. in science or Engineering or Master’s degree in Engineering with two years of experience. The associates are paid Rs.10,500.00 per month and other benefits. Infosys Fellowships: Two fellowships each amounting to Rs.25,000 per month have been sponsored by Infosys Technologies Ltd. the IT giant, for those doing the Fellowship Programmes at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta

Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarships for Doctoral Studies: Awarded for Ph.D. Studies in India and for visiting any Asian Countries for collecting material for Ph.D. studies. The broad areas of subjects of study include Philosophy and History of Science, comparative Studies in Religion and Culture, International Relations and Constitutional Studies, Indian History and Culture, Environmental Ecology and sustainable Development. Lady Tata Memorial Trust Scientific Research Scholarships: awarded for scientific investigations having a bearing on the alleviation of human suffering from disease. National Biosciences Awards for Career Development: Awarded to scientists who are currently engaged in basic and applied research in Biosciences and Bio-Technology. Each award carries a cash amount of Rupees one lakh, a citation and a research grant of Rs.3.00 lakh per year for three years. National Education Test (NET): University grants Commission (UC) holds a national level test net for determining the eligibility for award for award of Junior Research Fellowships in the subjects under the Faculties of Humanities (including Languages) and Social Science. In the case of subjects under the Faculties of Science & Engineering, the examination is conducted jointly by the UGC and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The eligible candidates have to find placements I a university, national laboratory, institution of higher learning and research and Centres of Advanced Study, etc.

This scheme is combined with UGC Test for Lectures in Universities and Colleges. Master’s degree/BE, B.Tech. holders with 55% marks in relevant subject are eligible to appear. Contact Addresses: 1. Rameshwardas Birla Samrak Kosh Fellowship and Research Grants: Fellowships are awarded to those who have registered for Ph.D. courses in a medical or related subject. Selections are made on the basis of a joint Written Screening Test. Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics Junior Research Fellowships: Awarded for research in front-line areas of Physics and Bio-physical Sciences. Selection is based on the basis of an admission test.
